Stansberry named Big West Player of the Week

University of Hawai’i senior guard Eddie Stansberry was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Stansberry averaged 27.0 points over two games to lead the Rainbow Warriors to victories over Pacific and Portland State last week. He scored a career-high 28 points in the win over Portland State, and also shot 6 of 7 from 3-point range.

In the two games last week,  Stansberry shot 15 for 25 (.600) overall, 10 for 13 from 3-point range (.769), and was a perfect 14 for 14 on free throws.

It is the first Big West weekly award for Stansberry. Last season, only one UH player (Brocke Stepteau) received a Big West Player of the Week award.

Stansberry and the Warriors are currently in Champaign, Ill. They will play a road game at Illinois on Monday.
