Introducing the 2019-20 Warriors
The 2019-20 University of Hawai’i basketball team was introduced to the media during a “Photo Day” at the Stan Sheriff Center on Thursday.
This season’s roster features 15 players: three seniors (Zigmars Raimo, Eddie Stansberry, Ahmed Ali), two juniors (Drew Buggs, Samuta Avea), four sophomores (Mate Colina, Owen Hulland, Justin Hemsley, Dawson Carper), six freshmen (Justin Webster, Jessiya Villa, Bernardo da Silva, Garrett Cason, Zoar Nedd, Kameron Ng).
Buggs, Raimo and Stansberry are returning starters from last season’s team that finished 18-13 overall and 9-7 in the Big West Conference.
Junior Madut, a junior college transfer who signed with the Warriors in April, is expected to join the team in January.
The opening practice for the 2019-20 season is set for this Saturday. The Green & White intrasquad scrimmage, which will be open to the fans, is scheduled for October 12 at the Sheriff Center.
