Up next: Warriors host CSUN in another Big West big game on Saturday

The University of Hawai’i basketball team’s ESPN2 showdown with UC Irvine on February 15 will have to wait … until February 15. For now, the Rainbow Warriors have other opponents to worry about if they want to maintain pace with the Anteaters.

The Warriors will host CSUN in yet another crucial Big West Conference game on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center. Hawai’i is 13-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Matadors are 9-14 and 4-3. The Warriors are technically in second place at the moment, and CSUN is tied for third.

UC Irvine beat UC Davis, 80-65, on Thursday to move a half-game ahead of Hawai’i atop the conference standings.

For what it’s worth, CSUN played a late-night Thursday home game, beating UC Santa Barbara, 79-67. The game was televised on ESPNU and finished after 10:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). The Matadors are expected to arrive in Honolulu on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have been in Honolulu since January 12. This is their third consecutive week at home, and they are 3-0 so far during this homestand.

Hawai’i will return to the road next week for games at UC Santa Barbara on February 6, and Cal Poly on February 8.

More details on the Hawai’i vs. CSUN matchup will be posted later.
