Thursday’s Big West update

BigWestLogo

A UC Riverside upset victory over UC Davis highlighted Thursday’s action in the Big West Conference.

The Highlanders beat the Aggies, 61-55, to earn their first conference win of the season.

Hawai’i, which last played on January 7, will host Long Beach State on Saturday. The Warriors (6-9 overall, 0-2 Big West), Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara are now the remaining winless teams in the conference. Cal Poly is playing at UCSB on Saturday, so one of them will earn a victory then.

CSUN and UC Irvine are tied atop the standings as the only unbeaten teams at 3-0.

Also of note from Thursday’s action, Tre’ Coggins scored 34 points, including 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, to lead Cal State Fullerton to an 87-74 win over Cal Poly.
