Jardine leads his team in scoring at 3X3U tournament

Casdon Jardine had a solid showing in the Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship, April 2-4 at Indianapolis.

Jardine, a 6-foot-7 forward who just completed his senior season with the University of Hawai’i, led his team in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and 3-point shooting at the 3-on-3 tournament.

Sixty-four players from across the country participated in the three-day tournament. Jardine was selected to be part of the Big Sky/Big West team. Other members of the team were Arinze Chidom (UC Riverside), Isaiah Brown (Weber State), and Cody John (Weber State).

Jardine led the team with 50 points and 45 rebounds through eight games. He also topped the team with a .507 field goal percentage, 13 3-pointers and a .371 percentage from beyond the arc.

The Big Sky/Big West team went 3-5 during pool play, then lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Summit/Ohio Valley team.

The Big Ten/MAC team won the championship, defeating the Big 12/Southland team in the final.

Jardine is the first Hawai’i player to compete in the 3-on-3 event. Former UH player Eddie Stansberry was selected to play in 2020, but the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All players in the tournament receive money for participating, thus ending their NCAA eligibility. The Big Sky/Big West team received $3,000 ($1,000 per victory). The championship team from the Big Ten/MAC earned $71,000, including $50,000 for winning the final game.
