Clippers rout Shanghai Sharks, 127-87, to conclude Hawai’i trip

The 2019 version of the Los Angeles Clippers Hawaii Classic concluded with a 127-87 win by the NBA’s Clippers over the Shanghai Sharks from China on Sunday afternoon at the Stan Sheriff Center.
An announced crowd of 8,117 watched the Clippers dominate the game from start to finish with all 16 available players contributing points. Reserve forward Maurice Harkless led the Clippers with 16 points on 7-for-7 shooting in 12 minutes of action. Forward JaMychal Green, who was in the starting lineup, added 13 points.
Every Clipper in uniform received at least seven minutes of game time, and no player was on the court for more than 21 minutes.
However, star players Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Lou Williams did not play.
The Shanghai Sharks have mostly players from China on their roster, but their leading performers on Sunday were American James Nunnally (former UC Santa. Barbara player) with 31 points, and Donatas Montiejunas from Lithuania with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
On Thursday, the Houston Rockets defeated the Clippers, 109-96, at the Sheriff Center. It is the third consecutive year that the Clippers played at least one exhibition game at the Stan Sheriff Center and trained at the University of Hawai’i.
The Clippers also made several public appearances during the week, including youth basketball clinics and contributing to renovations for a computer and technology lab at Central Middle School.
