HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball program will host its fourth annual Tipoff Event on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Tipoff, sponsored by Bank of Hawaii and Hawaiian Airlines, has become one of the most anticipated social events of the year.

The Tipoff lets fans enjoy great food, win auction items, and get up close and personal with the players and staff of this year’s Rainbow Warrior basketball team. This year’s event has added significance as it helps kick off a year-long celebration of UH’s 100th season.  Among the attendees this year will be former Rainbow Warrior great Bob Nash, as well as Riley Wallace, the winningest coach in program history.

“The Tipoff Event is something we always look forward to, but especially this year as we mark our 100th season in 2019-20,” head coach Eran Ganott said. ” We have so much to be proud of regarding the incredible players, coaches, and accomplishments of our previous 99 seasons. The evening will also give us a chance to introduce our fans to this year’s team and the exciting future that’s in store for UH basketball. It’s really the best of both worlds and should make for a memorable evening.”

The fundraiser starts at 5:30 p.m. with drinks and a silent auction. Dinner and a program will follow with players and members of the coaching staff participating in a Q&A with the broadcast team from Spectrum Sports.

Tables (seating 10) are available beginning at $2,000.  Individual tickets may also be purchased at $200 each. Contact Dominic Drury at druryd@hawaii.edu

All proceeds from the evening will go to men’s basketball program. Most of the funds will be directed toward student-athlete tuition and health and nutrition. It will also benefit the program’s recruiting and retention efforts.
