Warriors shopping for a win before California trip

Before its Thanksgiving trip to California, the University of Hawai’i basketball team will be shopping for a win on Sunday.

The Rainbow Warriors will host Northern Arizona at 5:00 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. Both teams are 2-1.

Hawai’i’s last game was on November 11, when it lost to North Texas, 68-51. Here are UH’s current statistical leaders through the first three games:

• Jack Purchase – 13.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 10 for 21 from 3-point range

• Zigmars Raimo – 12.7 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, .640 field goal percentage

• Eddie Stansberry – 11.0 points per game, 10 for 24 from 3-point range

• Brocke Stepteau – 10.0 points per game, 3.0 assists per game

• Drew Buggs – 7.7 points per game, 5.3 assists per game, 4.0 rebounds per game

• Samuta Avea – 6.7 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game

The Warriors are opening this season with four consecutive home games, but will follow that with four consecutive road games. They are scheduled to play three games in four days during the Wooden Legacy tournament at Fullerton, Calif., November 22, 23 and 25. That will be followed by a road game at UCLA on November 28.

Northern Arizona is coming off a 76-66 road win at Omaha on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks finished 5-27 last season, and are predicted to finish last (11th) in the Big Sky Conference this season.

• Ted McCree (6-4, Jr., G) – 13.7 points per game, 11 for 13 free throws (.846)

• Carlos Hines (6-4, So., G) – 13.7 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, 2.0 steals per game

• Bernie Andre (6-7, So., F) – 12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds per game

• Davon Bolton (6-2, Jr., G) – 9.7 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game

• Brooks DeBisschop (6-9, Jr., F) – 9.3 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, .591 field goal percentage

• Cameron Shelton (6-2, Fr., G) – 8.7 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game
