The men’s team returns eight letterwinners from last year’s 17-13 squad, highlighted by Big West honorees Sheriff Drammeh (Best Hustle Player) and Jack Purchase (Best Sixth Player). Also returning are fifth-year senior Brocke Stepteau and backcourt mate Drew Buggs, one of the league’s top freshmen last year.

UH will host 18 regular-season home games and will face at least five teams that won 20 or more contest last season. The ‘Bows will also again host the 10th annual Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, one of the premier eight-team tournaments in the nation.

The Rainbow Wahine, meanwhile, return four starters from a year ago as they aim for a bounce-back season for 2018-19. Senior Tia Kanoa returns as the vocal floor general at the point guard position with top scoring threats in senior forward Lahni Salanoa and junior forward Makenna Woodfolk.

The 2018-19 schedule will feature 16 home games including the team’s first season opener at home under head Laura Beeman, as the Rainbow Wahine face Pepperdine on Nov. 6. UH also hosts a pair of tournaments featuring top-notch opponents, including an appearance by perennial national power Stanford in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown on Thanksgiving weekend.

UH Manoa students who pay the student athletic fee, receive admission to all regular-season men’s and women’s home games, with the exception of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. UH Manoa student identification cards will be scanned at gate B for entry.
