Brandon Thomas and Zigmars Raimo combined for 45 points and 27 rebounds to lead Ultimate Roofing to a 93-79 victory over Island Movers in a semifinal game of the Hawai’i Development League playoffs on Monday night at Saint Francis School Gymnasium.

Thomas scored a game-high 26 points, and Raimo added 19 points and 20 rebounds as Ultimate Roofing advanced to Thursday’s championship game of the summer league.

The University of Hawai’i duo out-did another pair of Rainbow Warriors. Brocke Stepteau scored 20 points and Samuta Avea added 15, but it was not enough to keep Island Movers in the playoffs. Island Movers entered the game on a three-game winning streak.

In the other semifinal, top seed Lei Lei’s defeated Hooters, 72-70. Mate Colina, UH’s incoming freshman center from Australia, scored six points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Lei Lei’s. He had a crucial blocked shot in the final minute, and also hit a free throw in the closing seconds to help secure the victory.

Micah Dunhour, a graduate of Academy of the Pacific who now plays professionally in Europe, led Lei Lei’s with 26 points.

Hooters had the final possession of the game with less than five seconds on the clock, but former UH standout Julian Sensley’s long 3-point attempt came up way short as the final horn sounded.

Dawson Carper, another incoming freshman center for UH, was held to two points and four rebounds.

The championship game between Ultimate Roofing and Lei Lei’s is scheduled for this Thursday night at Maryknoll School Gym.
