Spurs guard Mills makes appearance at UH camp

Patty Mills of the San Antonio Spurs made a guest appearance at the Rainbow Warrior Basketball Camp on Wednesday afternoon at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Mills, who was a member of the Spurs’ NBA championship team in 2014, was a star guard at Saint Mary’s from 2007-09, when Eran Ganot was a member of the Gaels’ staff. Ganot is entering his second season as head coach at the University of Hawai’i.
Mills said he is on his way to his home country of Australia, and it worked with his schedule to take a “break” in Hawai’i.
“I thought I’d stop by here and get a good break, obviously visit Coach Ganot,” Mills said in the above interview with KHO2. “He gave me the opportunity to also use this as a facility to get ready for the real Olympics this year. I’m real grateful for that … the least I could do is come and see the kids here.”
Two more UH basketball camps for youth players are coming up: June 21-24, and August 1-4. CLICK HERE for more information on the camps.

” … Nevels had himself a pretty dang good year playing for Albacete Basket in Spain’s fourth-tier league, the EBA. He averaged 20.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, stepped up his production in the playoffs and was named league MVP.”

Former UH player and now Cavs assistant coach doing player development, Phil Handy is getting the credit for the stellar game 3 performance from the Cavs. Pretty cool article.

Also, Zigmars and Larry Lewis are on a roster.
Thanks, islandman. Looks like everyone but Drew Buggs is on a roster. Of course, that doesn’t mean they’ll all show up. Second summer session doesn’t start until July 5 when all players are expected here.
And of course if we can’t have John Wall, it would still be nice to see Austin Pope play in the Summer League. Go Silverswords !
Go Bows !
