Theme nights return, starting with Thursday’s exhibition
Theme nights will return to the Stan Sheriff Center for the 2015-16 University of Hawai’i basketball season.
When the Warriors host Chaminade in an exhibition game on Thursday, November 5, “Zombie Apocalypse” will be the theme for the night. Fans can dress up as zombies, and the student section is expected to perform a “Thriller Flash Mob” dance scene in the first half.
The results and statistics from Thursday’s game will not count for either team, but it is the first chance for fans to see the Warriors and first-year head coach Eran Ganot take on a different team.
There will be no television or radio coverage, so attending the game will be the only opportunity for a live look.
This will also be the lone exhibition game on the schedule. The regular-season will begin with three games in four days during the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic — Montana State on November 13, Coastal Carolina on November 15, and Nevada on November 16.

Jamie should do a very important 24/7 theme day right now..
Where in the world is Agent Zero? Showtime? Capt. Midnight?
would be great, for him, he could search the virtual and real world , all the millennials join in..
Great job Jamie.. as always.. hope interest picks up..
Bigdaddy? where art thou son?
Lets just wish that the team don’t play like zombies! All of us die hard UH sports fans need something positive around everything else that happening with football.
that is a Good one! Man, just hope team rises to the occasion.. the remaning guys, whomever, I am sure will battle, always tough go, when new system..

Go Warriors Go Bows ..and Go Theme Nights !!

I see Fleming in the video above and I think it is appropriate question at this point of what is going on with him?
According to Mcginnis and others, Fleming has been MIA for at least one week and not even being seen around the team. Those who follow sports know that this not supposed to be allowed.
My guessing is Fleming either quit or is serving a suspension. Either way, UH should make some kind of announcement so people stop guessing and making rumors.
He was given time off by the coach, the last report i read by McInnis.
Thanks islandman but 10 days off or what ever it is up to now seems like way too much time off especially for a main player on a D1 program right before the start of the season. Thats why my first guess is he got suspended but UH not saying anything about it. They should at this point is what I’m trying to say.
Good job Jamie. Let’s plan Karaoke night for the students Best singer at halftime gets a prize. And a beach/ luau night Music from the beach boys era on the sound system.
Take this for what it’s worth: Last night, a friend sent me a photo of Fleming’s locker. Only thing in it was a trash bag. What that means, who knows? Hopefully, Fleming settles his “personal” issues and returns … at the bottom of the rotation. For now, the team has to move on. There’s an exhibition game tomorrow night, and the season tips off next week. Good luck to Isaac … whatever happens.
Jamie does awesome. Set those records for student participation, and that all time one game attendance by students/ Manoa Maniacs.. a Stan Sheriff Center rocking with Star Wars theme, or Others , fun ones. I really hope Jamie and staff can hit OVER 1000 students . I tell you. . having in the lower bowl 2000 students yelling support for team, it like having over 12000 in attendance.. just rocks the roof.
Jamie, I hope you stay at UH until you can retire.. on of the best additions to UH MBB program in years.
Thanks so much..
Rock the house.
Hey if all can. the exhibition against Chaminade on Thursday, got nothing to do, and ends early ..go down and check out team. they need our support. I will view online stats.. I think so cool, who ever doing that from SSC.. just like you being there ! Dyrbe from the corner for 3 ! Zach drives to the hole, and one . Quincy takes lob and throws down .. Valdes Tomahawk dunk over defender.. stuff like that.. really, . ole school way to follow games. however can use imagination !!
Go Bows/ Warriors !
🙂
Jamie is huge for UH. I believe this will be the first season in which he’ll be with the team from the start of the season. I guess you could say that’s something the UH admin finally got right.
Very interested to see the new guys tomorrow! Especially Drammeh and Stepteau. Despite the departures of Nevels and Valdes, I think we’re stronger than last year.
Fleming in that video means nothin. Fleming is proving nothin staying out of system for this long. He’s probably gone and just trying to finish the semester and moving on. Either Fleming conforms to Ganot’s wishes or he’s out and I guess it is what it is. Next!
I. F. will observe the practice tonight but not participate, per the coach (McInnis tweet).
Glad to hear Isaac is observing at practice. Whatever issues he’s dealing with will hopefully be cleared up soon. There are real games starting tomorrow and he’s going to want to get out on that floor.
Fleming observed team practice and took shots with teammates afterwards, per McInnis tweets.
If everyone can stay on the same page this team’s going places. Seven in the rotation is thin but doable. If the bigs learned anything from last season it’s to stay away from foul trouble. Do that and you looking at another 20 win season and Big West Champs. Plus three in a row is big time and will open the recruiting in a huge way because we are no fluke.
The IF news is getting old Lets stop speculating As for servante and 7 on roster .. i thought we had 14 or 15 in team can we think of all players not just your favourites It takes a lot more to win than just 7 guys
Thomas doubtful tomorrow, due to meniscus strain, per McInnis. If you didn’t hear hoopstalk, Jeff said UH had a closed scrimmage with BYU, don’t know when. Also, had a five minute intrasquad game yesterday where the green (1st team) was leading the white 14-2 ,with a minute and 12 sec or 40 sec left. Then the white team hit five 3’s in a row.
Per Jeff’s blog, players can still call timeouts while the ball is in play, like when falling out of bounds, but coaches can’t call timeouts when the ball is live. Wonder what that means, when can the coach call a timeout then ? Only when the ball is dead ? Hand checking and no bodying up rules will be enforced this year which may lead to more FT’s and could hinder UH’s aggressive defense.
Potential shot violations and whether a player flopped can be reviewed on the monitor and if a player flopped, he can draw a technical foul.

Coach Laura said that Riverside will be tough this year on the women’s side. They return all or four starters, including the player of the year and freshman of the year. Two UNLV transfers and one JC player.
Congrats to EG on the recent marriage. What a low key guy. IF sighting at practice, that’s a good sign. He’s still on the island.
