Warriors recruiting students to attend games
The University of Hawai’i basketball team could use all the support it can get this week, and the Warriors are turning to their fellow students for help.
Hawai’i will play two home games this week – Thursday against UC Santa Barbara, and Saturday against Cal Poly. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Warriors visited the student cafeteria and dorms this week in an effort to “recruit” students to attend the home games.
Jamie Smith, the team’s Performance Analyst, led the recruiting effort, just as he did last season. “Every game is a party,” has become his tagline, and he has once again created a theme for each game.
This Thursday will be “Retro Aloha Shirt Night,” and fans are encouraged to wear their “brightest, ugliest or craziest” Aloha attire. Saturday will be “Superhero Night,” and fans are encouraged to wear superhero or super-villain costumes.

Great video. Shows Jamie Smith doing his thing, getting support from the students to come to games. Good job Jamie. As well as Fotu, Nevels and Smith, great sports all.
Believe that the Manoa Maniacs and UH students who were at Northridge game, affected the FT shooting of the Matador players. They suddenly started missing key shots, when the Maniacs did their routine behind basket, it was fun.
Mahalo to Jamie Smith, and welcome back to UH BB staff, great addition!
Go Bows
Uhfanzonly1.
Yea, we yell like he** without the Manoa Maniacs there but man, with a full compliment of MM’s, there just seems to be another level of energy. And the players really seem to feed off of that. Especially the Spear. Glad to see Jamie doing his thing.
Go Bows!!!!
quincy also got another type of game haha
This video is hilarious!!
“Yay! Give ’em some candy!”
