Senior guard Brandon Spearman was named the Big West Conference Player of the Week, based on his performance in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic last week.

Here is the announcement from the UH Media Relations Office:

IRVINE, Calif. – Brandon Spearman secured Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors after leading Hawai’i to a 2-1 record in the prestigious Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic and capturing all-tournament honors.

The 6-4 guard averaged 14.3 ppg and 6.0 rpg in three contests and lifted UH to back-to-back wins against Saint Mary’s and Oregon State. Major award. Imagine if Brandon Spearman were healthy last games of 2012-13 season, maybe, UH would have made NCAA’s? Now Brandon, Christian, Isaac, Davis, Keith, and whole team, can go after NCAA’s and do some damage.
