Official: Fleming signs with Hawai’i
The signing of prep guard Isaac Fleming was officially announced by the University of Hawai’i today. Here is the release from the UH Media Relations Department:
HONOLULU – University of Hawai’i men’s basketball coach Gib Arnold announced the signing of Isaac Fleming to a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period. Fleming will join the team next fall as a freshman and will have four years of eligibility.
Fleming is currently attending Massanutten Military Academy, which is a post-graduate academy in Virginia. Fleming is rated as the 15th best player in Virginia by Phenom Hoop Report.
Last season, Fleming played for National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Md. While there he averaged 25.7 ppg and close to 10 rebounds and 4 assists to help lead the Eagles to a 22-7 mark and 8-2 record in conference. The sweet-stroking leftie earned all-metro honors from the Washington Post and Prince George’s All-Gazette second team honors. He was also selected to participate in the 40th Annual Capital Classic All-Star game in Washington D.C.
Prior to the National Christian Academy, Fleming attended William Penn High School in his native Delaware. Fleming, who played AAU ball for Team Takeover EYBL and Team Loaded (Va.), will be the first player from Delaware to suit up for the Rainbow Warriors.
“Isaac is a do-everything guard,” Arnold said, “who at 6-4, can play three positions. He’s an outstanding athlete with great range. Coming all the way from Delaware, we are starting to see the reach of University of Hawai’i basketball. We’re thrilled to have Isaac join our ‘ohana.”
Fleming chose Hawai’i over Virginia Tech, Rutgers and Kansas State.

Or all of the above, you obviously see what we see. A program that is on the move up with high character people like yourself.
Thanks for coming here.
That’s what a winning program will do. Big time basketball in Hawaii can happen with the right program. Like volleyball Hawaii is the perfect environment for basketball. It is a lot easier on the body to practice in warm weather especially for the knees and ankles. Take a look at the early 70’s; we were big time then. The Fabulous Five, Henderson/Wilson era, and perhaps the greatest raw talent ever put together: Carter, Lett, and Hollingsworth era. We are getting there.
Welcome aboard Isaac, we surely need a big guard with your talents! Gotta find a real athletic big guy for next season as well. Shot blocker and a rebounder!
going after this kid hard meaning you really want him…gib sounds pretty excited and happy which is a good thing…now onto a couple 6’8-6’10 shot blocking forwards…nice to get a jc player that can play right away

Agreed uhfan, Gib has the perimeter guys, for next 3 years or so, PG’s, SG’s , wings, now, to get those long athletic, shot blockers, mistake erasers like the NMSU’s, Mizzous, and big time Louisville have.Weird how, with new rules changes, UH went, for guards, speed, now they have to shore up that rim protection. Nice, that Gib and staff can focus, perhaps on Toronto and Maryland, Virgina, Delaware,, a lot of talent there!
I think Gib is getting there, getting the needed talent and adjusting his recruiting strategy, that is being a smart recruiting coach. Good job Benjy Taylor too, for his going hard after Isaac Fleming. Going to be a good one, from Military prep academy, lot of discipline. he will be used to hard work as team!
Go Bows!
