There’s still time to register for youth camps
Still looking for a summer activity for the kids? There is still time to register for the 2013 Hawai’i Basketball Camp.
This year’s camp will include two sessions: May 29-June 1, and June 3-6. Both sessions are open to boys and girls ages 6 to 17, of all skill levels (players will be separated into groups based on age and skill level). Players can register for either session, or both.
Head coach Gib Arnold and his staff will be in attendance each day to lead the instruction. Current and former University of Hawai’i players are also expected to assist.
The various gyms on the UH Athletics Complex will be used, and each participant is guaranteed to spend some practice time on the Stan Sheriff Center court during the camp.
We hope that Hunter Schmidt is healthy enough to be part of camp!
Best wishes Hunter!

As Well As Confirmation of NCAA Approval of the Shaq Waiver(?)….
They ought to let Shaq walk-on (Loans, etc.), get back in Good Academic Standing
(IF He CAN depending on How Much Academic Progress slipped)
Get away from the bad influences and grant a second chance to one of our own…
Was reported on local sports TV newscast, that UH FB team, out of possible 85 (?)full ride scholarship athletes, 56(!), had a GPA of 3.00 or better, if true that is unreal. Hoping that 12, count em 12, MBB full ride scholarship athletes this past year 2012-13 had a 2.6 or better cumulative GPA, and every single one of those athletes completed the Spring 2013 semester in good standing, working towards a degree. It is so vital. Really the BOTTOM line for UH MBB program for next few years.
GPA, retention and graduation of student athletes. It will be tougher next year.
For sake of program, I am hoping, really hoping that UH MBB team all 12 , from Spearman to Vander, got good grades and completed courses in good academic stead this year. So important for APR and career of coach and team for 2014-15 and beyond!!
