Tattoos in Paradise: Brandon Jawato
We will have more preview articles on Wednesday and Thursday for the upcoming Big West Conference Tournament game between Hawai’i and UC Irvine. For now, here is the latest Warrior to be featured on DaBeast Froductions’ “Tattoos in Paradise” series.
Freshman guard Brandon Jawato may have the most body ink of any player on the team. He has a tribal tattoo along his left arm, along with tributes to his family on that same arm.
He also has an Indonesian tattoo on his chest, and a large JAWATO tattoo across the top of his back. He said he also has numerous smaller tattoos on his hands and feet. Interestingly, he said the tattoos on his feet were the most painful “because that’s just bone.”
The Warriors departed Honolulu on Tuesday afternoon and arrived in Los Angeles later that evening. They will practice at Fullerton, Calif., on Wednesday evening in preparation for Thursday’s Big West Conference opener.
The Warriors will face the Anteaters in the 4 vs. 5 game of the quarterfinals. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. (Hawaii time) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Brandon Jawato, “B” from Cali: If you are going to look like a Warrior representing your culture, family, and self, you must play like one. We really need you to play smart agressive Defense, stay with the shooters, don’t foul, and take your shots in rhythym. I you can add strong drives to the hoop and finish, Jace will find you.
Jawato, you along with Hauns are vital, to add perimeter scoring, both of you have to combine for at least 30 pts. With the Bigs going for maybe 45 pts, and the rest of bench adding perhaps another 15, You guys, put up 88-90 on Irvine, who defend and rebound very well, disciplined and well coached , you guys will have fun and win.
Hey I hope coach Gib, let’s the guys, run and have fun. UH though, every ball coming off the glass or rolling on the floor is yours,. Win the possession battle in rebounds, and taking care of ball, and when clock stops, you guys hitting over 80% of your free throws, you can win.
Record for all 8 teams starting Thurs. Mar. 14 2013? 0-0 for BWC tournament. Scout well, Defend and shoot very well, and close out. it will be tought Irvine is good, however you guys , and you Brandon “B” Jawato out of Cali with roots in Indonesia are a warrior, no longer a new inexperiecned freshman, however a veteran of some 30 NCAA DI games.
Go Warriors and the Brandons(including Spearman who is on the bench supporting you guys)
Get the, win, not one and done, feel FREE, get THREE and go NCAA dancing!
