A team meal before hitting the road
The Hawai’i basketball team got to “fuel up” with a breakfast buffet prior to departing for its upcoming two-game road trip.
The Warriors will play at Utah State on Thursday, then at Idaho on Saturday. Following a morning practice on Tuesday, the Warriors had breakfast together. They departed Honolulu for Logan, Utah, later that day.
“This is right on the money,” junior Hauns Brereton said. “Good to fuel up before the long trip.”
The spread included a variety of selections, including scrambled eggs, sausages, rice, potatoes, pancakes, cereal and fresh fruit.
Junior forward Joston Thomas joked that the secret to winning games is to “eat your Wheaties.” When told that Wheaties was not among the selections, he said that Frosted Flakes would work as well.
The Warriors will eat several more meals together in the upcoming days, as they will be on the road for the next five nights.
Hawai’i is 11-8 overall and tied for third place in the Western Athletic Conference at 3-2. Utah State is 10-10 and 2-3. A preview of Thursday’s game will be posted later.
