Warriors find steak in China
The Hawaii basketball team spent two weeks in China, so like it or not, a majority of the meals were … Chinese food.
But for one meal, the Warriors got a taste of American beef. Well, sort of.
The team found a steak restaurant in Shenyang, China, and they ate a pregame meal there on Tuesday, August 16.
“This is the first time I’ve eaten in two days and I’m very pleased,” Zane Johnson said.
The steaks weren’t exactly all-American. They were thinly sliced and had some different types of seasonings, but it was served on a sizzling platter and cooked to each individual’s liking.
The Warriors gave it a collective thumbs up.
“Delicious” Hauns Brereton said. “I loved it. This is the kind of stuff I tried to hit in Taiwan a lot. Good stuff.”
Brereton served a two-year church mission in Taiwan, and helped most of his teammates order their steaks at the restaurant.
