Let the adventure begin

A basketball trip can’t start without … basketball.

And so it was for the Hawaii basketball team, which went through an early-morning practice at 6 a.m. on Friday before embarking on a two week journey through Asia.

“That was necessary to get them up and make sure we didn’t miss the flight,” Hawaii head coach Gib Arnold said. “And we also needed the practice time.”

After the morning practice, the Warriors boarded a bus bound for the Honolulu International Airport. They were scheduled to take a 10:30 a.m. flight for Tokyo, Japan. By the time the Warriors landed in Japan, it was Saturday afternoon, thanks mostly to the time difference.

Hawaii is scheduled to play seven exhibition games during the trip.

WarriorInsider.com is along for the trip, and will try to provide updates throughout – as long as logistics in China and Japan allow us to do so.
