Hours before the WAC Tournament

The end result may have been forgettable, but it was otherwise a unique experience for the Hawaii basketball team at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Las Vegas.

For the first time, the WAC Tournament was held at the Orleans Arena. The Warriors stayed at the Orleans Hotel and Casino, so it was literally a walk across the street to get to the game.

The UH pep band and cheerleaders also made the trip to Las Vegas, as did a few hundred fans, so there was a nice support group for the Warriors.

Hawaii’s opening round game against San Jose State started at noon (Vegas time), so that was another unique experience for the Warriors.

In this edition of “Bill and Zane’s Excellent Adventure,” video coordinator John Spruance and administrative assistant Nicholas Milan provide a behind-the-scenes look at the morning hours just before the game against San Jose State.
