On the Road with Bill Amis: Davis, Calif.

Senior forward Bill Amis played the role of traveling correspondent – literally – for www.WarriorInsider.com last week.

After the Hawaii basketball team’s 83-69 road victory at UC Davis on Saturday, Amis interviewed some of his teammates while they were on a bus ride from Davis to San Francisco.

Junior guard Zane Johnson provided an assist. After answering questions from Amis, Johnson took the camera and interviewed Amis. It was quite appropriate, as Johnson scored a career-high 32 points in the win, and Amis added 20 points and five rebounds.

They also interviewed senior point guard Hiram Thompson, who did not play due to an elbow injury, but had dozens of friends of family members at the game. Thompson grew up near the Davis area.

Amis also captured video of Nicholas Milan shooting baskets after one of the team’s practices in Davis. Milan, a former Kaimuki High player, is an administrative assistant for the Warriors.
