Pre-game meals
Film sessions, scouting reports and, of course, practices are all part of the pre-game preparation for the Hawaii basketball team.
So are chicken and pasta.
Before every home game, the Warriors share a pre-game meal together as a team in the Stan Sheriff Center. The menu always features some type of chicken dish and a pasta dish, as well as salads, vegetables, sandwiches and juices.
“They do a good job,” junior Zane Johnson said of the Sodexo company that prepares the meals.
Sophomore forward Dominick Brumfield added: “They’re pretty good, something to hold me over until the game.”
Hawaii head coach Gib Arnold said he likes the catered pre-game food because it assures that the team will be well-fed with a fresh meal. Also, it gives the players a last-minute chance to study the opponent because a scouting video is usually played on the television while the team is eating.
What? No poi?
The meal looks healthy. I thought maybe they would have more meat. After all, those guys are pretty big.
