Warriors celebrate Thanksgiving together
The day after improving its record to 5-0, the Hawaii basketball team celebrated Thanksgiving at head coach Gib Arnold’s home.
The Warriors feasted on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn and other traditional holiday foods.
“We had a good time, lots of fun,” Arnold said. “We ate a lot of turkey, watched a lot of football.”
Arnold said he hopes to make it an annual tradition – as long as it doesn’t interfere with any basketball progress.
“There are a lot of holiday tournaments out there, but as long as we’re not playing on Thanksgiving, I’d love to have the guys over every year and celebrate as an ohana,” he said.
Senior forward Bill Amis had a video camera with him to provide footage of the Thanksgiving get-together for warriorinsider.com.
It was nice that Coach Arnold invited his players over for Thanksgiving. I hope this team stays close and continue to play unselfishly. 5-0……that sounds good. It’s exciting to watch this team. They got lots of energy. Go Warriors!
