It’s Joston, not Josten
A player listed as Josten Thomas led the College of Southern Idaho in scoring and rebounding last season.
A player named Joston Thomas — who transferred from the College of Southern Idaho – is in his first season with the Hawaii basketball team.
Yes, we’re talking about the same person.
People have been identifying Joston Thomas as Josten Thomas for several years now, thanks in part to internet reports that surfaced when he was a high school standout.
“There was a write-up on, I think, Rivals or Scout or something like that and they spelled my name J-o-s-t-e-n and everybody just copied and pasted it I guess,” he said. “But it’s J-o-s-t-o-n.”
When Thomas signed to play for Hawaii in April, his first name was still being reported as Josten. It has since been corrected on the official team roster.
