Elite California prospect to visit Hawaii

Damiene Cain (White, No. 15) of Harvard-Westlake High said he will make a recruiting visit to Hawaii on Oct. 15.

Cain, a 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward, is considered one of the top high school post players in California. Calihighsports.com ranks Cain as the No. 17 prospect in the state.

Cain averaged 13.3 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots per game as a junior last season.

“I’m the captain of the team this year, so my coach told me that everybody will be looking to me,” Cain said. “I like that. It’s kind of exciting to be in that position.”

Cain has already made recruiting visits to Boston College and San Diego State, and is scheduled to visit Colorado later this month.

“Hawaii just recently started showing interest with Coach (Gib) Arnold, but I like what he had to say,” Cain said. “So I’ll go out there and see how it is.”
